They cut Josef Kainar naked

A journey through night and time to the Savoy cafe in full glory, with music, singing, poetry and the youthful Pepko Kainar

The life destinies of the poet, playwright, translator, journalist, but also the great musician Josef Kainar (1917–1971) were also connected with Ostrava during his youth, and it was this little-known connection that became the subject of the original production of the Puppet Theater. In the stage story of an almost deserted night cafe, which, through a play of imagination and fantasy, turns into the defunct Savoy cafe in Ostrava, we will return to the time of Kainar's youth, to the time of his studies, first loves, enthusiastic music making and verse writing. The live music on stage plays Kainar's original songs in new arrangements, as well as compositions by other authors with lyrics by him.
