The road to Christmas

Let yourself and your children be carried away by the story of the creation of the world and the birth of Jesus, which comes to life in the new production of the Puppet Hospital troupe. The audience, along with the actors and puppets, travel through biblical stories, just like in the old baroque plays, until they arrive together at Christmas. To this year's ones, under the tree, where the Nativity scene is still hidden, and where on Christmas Day we find the true meaning of Christmas. Under the tree, which is reflected in the colorful stained glass windows of solemnly decorated churches and in the windows of our living rooms.

The Art Production combines classic large marionettes, Javanese-type puppets, large puppets with lower guidance and original puppets together with acting. The show will feature live music and the singing of traditional carols and original Christmas songs...

The theater will become a universe in which the past and the present will intertwine into a joyous anticipation of this year's Christmas. Whether they are the same for us as every year, or whether they are somewhat different this year and more than ever we appreciate the opportunity to meet our loved ones in health and peace on Christmas Day.

Journey to Christmas is a new production by the Puppets in the Hospital ensemble and the Center for Czech Puppetry. Other puppeteers from the ranks of students and graduates of the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater of the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague collaborate with the regular members of the ensemble for the performance.

The Puppets in the Hospital troupe has been helping hospitalized children to laugh again for 17 years through puppet shows. Every year, it carries out almost a thousand visits to small caries in hospitals and treatment centers throughout the country.

The performance is intended for family audiences and children from 5 years of age.

The performance is dedicated to children who have been, or are, hospitalized in medical facilities and their loved ones. We would also like to invite these children to a performance in your city. We see them regularly at the local hospital and would love to be able to say, "Get well soon, see you at the theater!" during our bedside visits.
