Christmas game

The Ostrava Puppet Theater has prepared Christmas plays for its audience several times for this year's Advent. The Ostrava author Tomáš Vůjtek continues the tradition of folk baroque plays, which were staged in the Czech and Moravian countryside, especially during the 17th to 19th centuries, in a completely contemporary language.

Although the Christmas play is subtitled "about that glorious birth", it does not end with Baby Jesus in Bethlehem. Exactly opposite. The whole story of his birth is set in a dispute between devils and angels, who prove to each other who was born to humanity and what his task is. We will be in hell for a while, in heaven for a while, but in the end, of course, we will find ourselves with our feet on the ground (and we will sing a few well-known carols, which cannot be missed at Bethlehem). The production is intended for families with children from 3 years old. The production was directed by Václav Klemens, the dramaturgy by Tereza Agelová, and the artist Michal Hejmovský is behind the creative side.
